Little Princess Sheep wants to be part of the zoo

Our zoo, as wicked and as crazy as it seems, is our big happy family. After all we do spend more time here than at home. That’s why probably we became a little pretentious about who wants to join our team, who wants to become part of our family, to work as hard as we do, to be able to handle the schedule and the stress, but also to be happy and fun, because only the sense of humor and the joy give us the energy and patience to deal with the daily routine and pressure.
For the summer we really need some new “family members”, so the search began.
Three days ago Little Princess Sheep came for an interview, but, very natural blond being she must have misunderstood that the reception job is somehow the director’s job because from the first day of training she started giving orders, making her own program, defying the manager, talking back, making faces, all kinds of claims and caprices.
Princess Sheep’s visit to the zoo was a brief one and we are all very happy and relieved. We really hope that our new colleague will be also our new family member and that we will all have a great summer in our wicked zoo.

Beavis and Butthead to the Zoo

I’ll name them Beavis and Butthead. But the feminine versions of them. They came in our zoo one week ago and like most drunk desperate more than fifty years old tourists enjoying Cyprus holidays they shared with us their lives stories. I must remind you that we almost never want to know all these scary details! J
They came to Cyprus like best friends looking for real men (I just can’t stop laughing!!!)but they ended fighting and almost killing each other. The truth is always somewhere in the middle but the story as we know it goes like this… Beavis has an online dating account full of fake pictures of some other woman, a nice one, not 100 kg like her. Here she meets this kinky guy from North Cyprus that wants to have a long term sexual relationship with a naïve English woman that he expects to be beautiful. So she speeds to Cyprus looking for “romance”. But unfortunately she never gets to the North side because she’s too busy spending the days topless near the pool horrifying the rest of clients and the nights beating the crap out of her roommate.
Sad story…;))No Prince Charming, no long term sexual relationship, no fun, just kung fu in the zoo J)

When the zoo became a prison...

When you work 11-12 hours every day without any day off you don’t really have any free time or a life as a matter of fact.
With time and the energy of the spring the mole apparently transformed into an irritated baboon that in the typical Cyprus business style is treating people like slaves and is exhausting everybody around him.
So now I wonder why did I compare this zoo with a prison?! In prison you get days off and all kinds of compensations for good behavior, at work if you’re good at what you’re doing you’re “rewarded” with even more work to do! And by the way, in prison they have three free meals a day ;)

Welcome home CHICO

Meet Chico!
He’s a two years old cocker spaniel that a few months ago was abandoned at a dog hotel.
Luckily for me and thanks to http://www.pets2adopt.com/ and Christiana Mandriotou that are doing an excellent job in rehoming stray animals in Cyprus, I was able to adopt Chico ten days ago. He is now part of my family and I must proudly admit that he felt like home from day one.
Chico is a wonderful pup! He is loving, playful, quiet, a very good and sweet dog. I am very happy that I chose him because he really made our lives complete and more joyful.
Adopt, don’t buy! There are so many beautiful, loyal, loving pups in the shelters; you can save a life and the small soul will be forever grateful and devoted.

“DON'T BREED OR BUY WHILE HOMELESS DIE!
Spay, neuter and ADOPT A PET, one by one until there are none!”

Motivational call

Change is the only constant in the world. We all go through changes, we all change with time…
I always thought that we have a destiny roughly mapped from our birth that we can influence of course with our decisions and actions, but still the sketch is there. Makes you wonder what will happen next.
Whatever happens next is in your power, everything depends on you!
Dream big, make plans for a wonderful future! Don’t be realistic! Anything you wish will become reality! Not even sky is the limit! There are no limits! You can do whatever you want, you can become whoever you wish. Just believe J

I WANT A PUPPY !

I love dogs!
All my life I had pets and I just can’t imagine life to be complete without the company of a loving sweet faithful pup.
I’m still crying and missing my beautiful Chayenne that is back in Romania, but she is in good hands, she has a nice garden and her best friend, Stiky, to play with. And, who knows, maybe one day if we go back home we’ll bring her with us too.

I’m for more than one year in Cyprus and I’m not planning to leave. Now my life is here, my job, my family. And, of course, in order to be complete I want a dog!
There are so many dog shelters in Cyprus, so many beautiful dogs with no family to love them back, so many sad stories, that you just wish to have super powers to be able to help them all. But you can’t. One person alone is helpless. You can only share the stories hoping that at least some of the pups will be lucky to find nice homes and loving owners, you can make small donations, you can volunteer if your work schedule allows it. Nothing is in vain. The mutual aid can make a difference.
Of course, having a dog is a very big responsibility and a life time commitment. Dogs are like children: besides shelter, food and water, they also need attention, time, play and a vet to check their health once in a while.
In the end, for the friends that know what this is about: I think that in our zoo a puppy would be the most humane of us all ;)
