The short horrifying experience of dating Cypriot men

One year and a half I avoided at all costs going out with Cypriots. I told you before that tenderness and faithfulness are not common in Cyprus, in fact they are almost non-existent. I say almost because I don’t want to be hypocrite and snob as in fact I didn’t have the “pleasure” to meet too many Cypriots.
This summer I was determined to try new things so I decided to accept some invitations and finally know for myself if all the legends are trueJ) To be honest, now I regret not trying bungee jumping or sky diving instead.
I really don’t know how to relate this personal experience without insulting all Cypriot men, but the conclusion is that I will not do it again and I will not keep trying to see the good in all people because some of them are just shallow ignorant creatures.
Cypriot men are inborn Don Juans. They can be full of passion and they can make you feel desired and beautiful and unique….for about five minutes J)
They are exactly like matches!...they burn so quickly! J)
If by any chance you fall for their primitive charm and you offer yourself be sure that you will not see him again, but believe me that’s not so bad!( and I mean not seeing them again!):))

New level of crazy

My life just reached a whole new level of craziness.
Everything is upside down starting with the work place where everybody is stressed and tired and those who work the most are yelled at while the ignorant ones collect the praise, all the way to a more personal level full of new very spicy experiences.
Talking about the work place I have to tell you about Madame Folie, our newest winner to the category “Craziest client of the month”. Madame Folie is around 56 years old and really likes wine in huge quantities. She also likes young boys after her wine and gets really resentful when she faces rejection. Long story short, one of these blurry nights, after harassing the night shift and running him up and down the stairs from the bar to her room ( asking for wine, more wine, glasses, ice…many many times)she tried to pull him into her room and when she got a big NO-NO she started screaming and punching. Not even the police could stop her. She called him racist because he doesn’t speak French and she complained to the manager that he tried to rape her. Unfortunately for her and luckily for us we trust eachother and on top of that we have nice clear cameras J)
I felt it before it even started that August will be the crest, the greatest month of the year! But really until now it exceeded all my expectations!!!:))

Karma strike

I just couldn’t stop myself from writing today about how great is the feeling of witnessing the karma act. You know, all good things you’ve done being repaid, all the people that hurt you tasting their own medicine, little things that make you realize there is still justice in the world.
I am truly happy and pleased with my life at this moment. I feel satisfied and complete. And I only see good things coming J so Cheers! For the future!

Holiday never lasts

Cyprus, the island of sun, of holiday and love…is not a very good place for couples I’m afraid.
I witnessed so many broken hearts since I came here and, damn it, I had my own heart broken once. I saw so many fights and so much hatred, so many bruises and scars where it used to be just kisses and caresses before.
The sun is too hot, the party is huge and there are thousands of beautiful uninhibited tourists from all over the world eager to taste all pleasures of life and make great memories. Everything is speeding, nothing lasts. This is a pretty awful thought for someone who decided to stay here, in Cyprus, forever.

Summer rush

This summer is in a big rush!
I can’t believe that it’s almost August already. Every day is so full and extraordinary, every day something new and exciting happens! So we are like hooked on Shark and adrenaline, riding every wave, enjoying every moment.
I feel really bad that I don’t even have the time to write here on the blog but I guess this means that we’ll just collect a lot of stories to be told in autumn.

The zoo is really crowded this year. Too much stress, too much work, almost no free time. But we learned already how to make the best of it: boat parties, beach parties, lovely trips, broken hearts, new romances, lots of passion!!! This summer is anything but boring.
Keep in touch ;)

Summertime all inclusive

This year is a little different than the other years…I can’t quite explain, but I think Cyprus has a bigger impact on us, is marking us somehow and not in a very good way probably.
There are more dogs in the zoo this year. Evan the chicks are becoming siga-siga dogs and this scared the hell out of me at first. It’s somehow funny and somehow sad. We work so much that this crazy zoo became our whole world: our occupation, our homes, our fantasies…
Summertime in the zoo is a great a season! We have fun and lots of laughs, we have love stories and passion, we have dramas, we have fight clubs, we have lovely meetings and sad breakups! We have everything!!! J) We love it and we hate it but in the end we all wanna be here cause we are the greatest team and we are so good at turning even the worst and stressful situations into a tone of fun and a story to be remembered.

Women?!?

Today I wanted to talk about women but I realized that it’s a too general and too complicated subject…
What women want is probably the biggest mystery in the world and I’m sure most of them don’t know it also. Roughly we all want someone we can count on, someone we can trust, someone to make us feel safe and protected, someone to respect and love us, honest and of course passionate in bed. The ideal would be to find all these qualities in one man.
You can call us “forever unsatisfied” but I will tell you what I’ve learned from my previous personal experience and from what I saw around me.
Good sex is not enough at some point. Passion and good sex are essential in a relationship but still not enough. You can have as much sex as you want but if there is nothing else to talk about, if for all the rest of the time he’s lying on the couch playing Playstation or watching sports, for sure you’re not having a real relationship.
The second part is more weird but still it happens a lot: you can find someone to love you deeply, to do everything for you, to spoil you and to caress you, to be always near you like a puppy wiggling his tale willing to please you, but still you can’t love him back. No passion, no respect. He’s acting like a puppy you treat him like a puppy.
Women, good luck in finding what you’re looking for!
Men, be men and be honest! (I feel like it’s a contradiction in this sentence, hope I’m wrong J )

Enjoy the moment

Don't wait for the perfect moment...Take the moment and make it perfect
Lately there are troubled waters in the zoo with all the mermaids and the chocolate and the studs…plots and jealousy, love and hate, kisses and knives.
We tend to over think the most simple situations, we tend to lose the small beautiful happy moments just because we want always more and we are afraid that we will miss great opportunities. We are only human; but we only have one life and maybe it’s more wise to live the moment, to enjoy the tiny pleasures instead of waiting some great miracle.
A broken heart is hard to heal but not impossible. With the right ingredients and attitude the heart always cures, always makes place for new hopes and dreams. Just believe that everything will be all right and it will be!

Chocolate- the new trend

Meanwhile in the zoo…
I already told you about our studs chasing mermaids so today I’ll tell you about the increased appetite for chocolate these days in our zoo. For those who aren’t in the zoo at the moment I must specify that when I say chocolate I mean hot sexy strong brilliantly shaped BLACK bodies!
It all started like a game, for fun and out of curiosity, but like I told you already, spring in Cyprus is magical: the sun, the sea and the hormones make an explosive cocktail! J) and beautiful, strong, passionate, protective men are just the right ingredient.
Following the saying “We should try a little bit of everything in life” we enter the hot Cyprus summer with new dreams, new games, new cribs and a lot of new funny stories to tell.

Springtime at the zoo

You all saw at least once in your lives Bambi and for sure you remember the scene of springtime in the woods, when everybody is in love and horny and lose their heads... Well this exact same scene is now happening in our zoo and it's hilarious.

This time of year it's open season for mermaids at the zoo. They come (usually from Russia, Ukraine and other non EU countries) and they sing the sweet song of Visa for the stupid dick heads that listen and make their wishes reality. Commonly they aim for the old reach Cypriots but depending on the degree of desperation they will settle for any European loser.

Then we have les Fleurs, the humble and shy ones that like to love and suffer in silence and les Incredibles that are just too macho for feelings, for love, for soft stories (only for the audience of course).

Love is in the air, hearts free to be broken, new stories to be written and lots and lots of laughs!!!:))

Life's mysterious ways

Looking back over my shoulder into a not so pink past I realized that it doesn’t matter how good you are, how noble and unselfish, there will always be someone lying to your face, trying to screw your life and to put you down if you allow it.
And I allowed it once. I let my guard down and I hoped for the best. Why do I find it so tragic and painful?!Well, just because for a few months I loved myself and I loved life and now I miss that feeling. I used to believe in love, in fate, in goodness and in trust, I used to believe that dreams do come true…and I was cheated and lied and trampled and hurt.
Life is not fair, but everything happens for a reason, and I’ve learned that after the storm the sun always shines more bright. I’ve learned that even if you’re hurt and you think that you’ve lost the most precious thing in life, it is just for your own good, it is all for a better future.

Little Princess Sheep wants to be part of the zoo

Our zoo, as wicked and as crazy as it seems, is our big happy family. After all we do spend more time here than at home. That’s why probably we became a little pretentious about who wants to join our team, who wants to become part of our family, to work as hard as we do, to be able to handle the schedule and the stress, but also to be happy and fun, because only the sense of humor and the joy give us the energy and patience to deal with the daily routine and pressure.
For the summer we really need some new “family members”, so the search began.
Three days ago Little Princess Sheep came for an interview, but, very natural blond being she must have misunderstood that the reception job is somehow the director’s job because from the first day of training she started giving orders, making her own program, defying the manager, talking back, making faces, all kinds of claims and caprices.
Princess Sheep’s visit to the zoo was a brief one and we are all very happy and relieved. We really hope that our new colleague will be also our new family member and that we will all have a great summer in our wicked zoo.

Beavis and Butthead to the Zoo

I’ll name them Beavis and Butthead. But the feminine versions of them. They came in our zoo one week ago and like most drunk desperate more than fifty years old tourists enjoying Cyprus holidays they shared with us their lives stories. I must remind you that we almost never want to know all these scary details! J
They came to Cyprus like best friends looking for real men (I just can’t stop laughing!!!)but they ended fighting and almost killing each other. The truth is always somewhere in the middle but the story as we know it goes like this… Beavis has an online dating account full of fake pictures of some other woman, a nice one, not 100 kg like her. Here she meets this kinky guy from North Cyprus that wants to have a long term sexual relationship with a naïve English woman that he expects to be beautiful. So she speeds to Cyprus looking for “romance”. But unfortunately she never gets to the North side because she’s too busy spending the days topless near the pool horrifying the rest of clients and the nights beating the crap out of her roommate.
Sad story…;))No Prince Charming, no long term sexual relationship, no fun, just kung fu in the zoo J)

When the zoo became a prison...

When you work 11-12 hours every day without any day off you don’t really have any free time or a life as a matter of fact.
With time and the energy of the spring the mole apparently transformed into an irritated baboon that in the typical Cyprus business style is treating people like slaves and is exhausting everybody around him.
So now I wonder why did I compare this zoo with a prison?! In prison you get days off and all kinds of compensations for good behavior, at work if you’re good at what you’re doing you’re “rewarded” with even more work to do! And by the way, in prison they have three free meals a day ;)

Welcome home CHICO

Meet Chico!
He’s a two years old cocker spaniel that a few months ago was abandoned at a dog hotel.
Luckily for me and thanks to http://www.pets2adopt.com/ and Christiana Mandriotou that are doing an excellent job in rehoming stray animals in Cyprus, I was able to adopt Chico ten days ago. He is now part of my family and I must proudly admit that he felt like home from day one.
Chico is a wonderful pup! He is loving, playful, quiet, a very good and sweet dog. I am very happy that I chose him because he really made our lives complete and more joyful.
Adopt, don’t buy! There are so many beautiful, loyal, loving pups in the shelters; you can save a life and the small soul will be forever grateful and devoted.

“DON'T BREED OR BUY WHILE HOMELESS DIE!
Spay, neuter and ADOPT A PET, one by one until there are none!”

Motivational call

Change is the only constant in the world. We all go through changes, we all change with time…
I always thought that we have a destiny roughly mapped from our birth that we can influence of course with our decisions and actions, but still the sketch is there. Makes you wonder what will happen next.
Whatever happens next is in your power, everything depends on you!
Dream big, make plans for a wonderful future! Don’t be realistic! Anything you wish will become reality! Not even sky is the limit! There are no limits! You can do whatever you want, you can become whoever you wish. Just believe J

I WANT A PUPPY !

I love dogs!
All my life I had pets and I just can’t imagine life to be complete without the company of a loving sweet faithful pup.
I’m still crying and missing my beautiful Chayenne that is back in Romania, but she is in good hands, she has a nice garden and her best friend, Stiky, to play with. And, who knows, maybe one day if we go back home we’ll bring her with us too.

I’m for more than one year in Cyprus and I’m not planning to leave. Now my life is here, my job, my family. And, of course, in order to be complete I want a dog!
There are so many dog shelters in Cyprus, so many beautiful dogs with no family to love them back, so many sad stories, that you just wish to have super powers to be able to help them all. But you can’t. One person alone is helpless. You can only share the stories hoping that at least some of the pups will be lucky to find nice homes and loving owners, you can make small donations, you can volunteer if your work schedule allows it. Nothing is in vain. The mutual aid can make a difference.
Of course, having a dog is a very big responsibility and a life time commitment. Dogs are like children: besides shelter, food and water, they also need attention, time, play and a vet to check their health once in a while.
In the end, for the friends that know what this is about: I think that in our zoo a puppy would be the most humane of us all ;)

ZOO Encyclopedia

Living and working in our wicked zoo we have every day the “pleasure” of meeting new people and learning new things. Most of the times what we learn every day is against our will and really annoying.
For example, in the past week, due to a very boring gentleman, I’ve learned that if children watch cartoons they become mentally instable, that we never exercise enough even though we run 15 hours a day around the hotel, that the salami is cloned and, most importantly, that computers and mobile phones are the work of the devil especially produced to eradicate mankind.
Just how many useless things can you hear daily???
Lucky for us, the season started, and the zoo is once again full of Russian visitors. I say “lucky for us” because most of them do not speak English, so, even if they happen to be “walking documentaries” we don’t understand a word they say (or care)…;))

I am the lizard king...I can do anything

Here I am crowned with a crown I never asked for, all alone in this imaginary paper kingdom…
Bitter games of pride that make people sour and careless are all around. Nobody cares, nobody wants to be involved, and in the end I’m just a scapegoat.
Back to the so called reality, here are the news: Black Panther is hopefully enjoying a relaxing unwanted holiday, the Chameleon changed colors so many times that she just vanished and the Mole is out hunting. Even the Big Bad Wolf took a break and left us alone for one whole week ;))
Seriously speaking now, only a fool would be happy to be in charge all by himself of something that is all new, unfamiliar and a very big responsibility. And even a bigger fool is the one that puts in charge of his business a person that doesn’t know how to manage it and more, asks this person to learn it all by himself.

The collapse of an empire

Chaos these days in our zoo…Nobody knows what tomorrow will bring. Some open new businesses, some buy new houses, some are not on the program anymore, some go on holiday with or without their consent.

In times of panic and distress mistakes are easy to be made. Although some (again I will not give names but we know who they are) do their best in these times - the fighters, the brave, the ones that think fast and well in extreme situations, the ones that love to fight for their survival, the ones that don’t just dream about a beautiful future but do something about it…
Usually the fight for survival is very very selfish. It is you always on the first place. It is a life or death fight. Some might (or better’) consider this a threat.

Fool's pride and sweet lies

As human beings we tend to blame others for our mistakes and failures.
In my country we have a saying: a fool is not fool enough if he’s not also proud; shortly: fool’s pride! I know so many of these people!!! And I’m sure every one of us did it at least once: blaming someone else for our errors or disappointments, masking our true feelings with fake smiles or false stories of greatness, lying in order to make a good impression…
These injustices used to make me very angry. Then I realized it’s most probably a self defense system that we sometimes use unconsciously in order to protect our consciousness, to be able to sleep at night.
Of course I’m talking today about the good part, about the white lies. The pure evil ones, like stabbing a friend in the back or crushing someone that loves you with stupid lies, just don’t deserve the attention…( although they are fresh and always on my mind )!

Cheerleaders

Football…we all love football and especially Brazilian football. Who haven’t heard of Pele, Romario, Cafu, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Roberto Carlos or Kaka?!
Since I started working in the zoo I had the pleasure to meet a lot of football players from all over the world. I must admit that first, when I heard about football players visiting our zoo, I kinda’ panicked: I thought they will be arrogant and vain, picky and full of complaints. But fortunately they were all nice friendly guys that we can proudly call friends.
Just yesterday Black Panther reminded me about some very nice stories from last summer…109 = the sexy boys room (of course it changed several times during the season), Ammos Beach Bar- the club where romance is born (or maybe just a money/sex conflict, who knows?! :)), Makenzie beach- where the muscles look great in the sea and sun…and many many more, but I have to let them refresh our memories too.

Athalassa Hotel

Yesterday I met in our zoo the weirdest guy ever I think…all macho, big and strong until he spoke like a little lady showing his black bra under the white t-shirt…Not very important, although funny, but this reminded me that all kind of weird people visit our zoo and I should speak about them.
So today we’ll have an interactive post. All of you zoo members (and visitors) can help me remember all the wirdos. Don’t get me wrong, we love weirdos! They make our days brighter, funnier and more bearable under the hot sun of Cyprus.
On top of my list of weirdos is the viper. Just kiddin’ J)although she is number one in the top of most hated around here. Back to the visitors- here are three of the most memorable guests: Mr Shitov the alcoholic zombie and his vodka fiancée Larisa the purple parakeet. During their stay we had comedy, horror, action, and the ER, all in one big all inclusive package. Then there is Mr Norwegian Pirate wanted by the police who has a fetish in washing his clothes in the garbage bin. Really weird guy but at least he gives us cookies all the time.
This IS just the beginning. Be free to share your stories with us.

Cyprus Carnival 2011

Party time this weekend in Cyprus: the great annual carnival and parade! All Cyprus celebrated the Carnival with wonderful costumes and parties but the capital of fun was Limassol where the parade took place. Even the tourists enjoyed this great celebration and they also wore funny dresses and masks.
These traditions date back to ancient times to the particular days when Dionysus ruled the Mediterranean as a divinity of mystery and wine.
Although these days the carnival fiesta is just an entertainment and amusement festivity, it attracts thousands of locals and tourists and it colors the Cyprus streets with joy and a very good time.

Ice Queen

Good girls go to Heaven, bad girls go wherever they want…

In my life I’ve been through lots of changes. I’m neither in Heaven nor exactly where I dreamt to be but in a constant journey of finding myself and happiness.

I had my bitchy moments, my teenage party-hard times, my rock’n roll and “live fast, love hard, die young” motto. I had my fantasies (and amazingly some of them came true) and I had my share of power.

I also had my very good-girl time, all sweet and loving, unselfish, small and humble. Of course it didn’t last long ‘cause when you’re small and humble apparently the others tend to crush you. And again you build walls and cover with armors and surround yourself with spears and produce poison, sweet poison…

And here comes the irony in life and love: when you desperately love someone you bump into a cold rock that will never love you back equally- equal doesn’t exist in love! And when somebody else adores you will be just walls and fangs and venom…

Spring cleaning day

Spring is here. Big activity in the zoo. It’s spring cleaning day! But just a little more unusual than expected. The mole and the viper are in charge and they want everything done in one day! However if you put a grain of amber on top of a pile of dung is not a diamond ring is it ?! Everybody worked like sedulous ants (except the mole and the viper of course) and the reward came pretty quick too : a nice new shining HEATER for the 21oC outside!:))
We are still all wondering why this façade charade?!

TATTOOS

Nowadays tattoos represent the symbol of inner self, the personal sense of beauty that everyone is free to chose. Varying from simple designs such as stars, writings, butterflies, up to quite complicated models that can be proudly presented in art galleries, tattoos are definitely the marks the soul leaves on the body.
People all over the world bring their contribution to the tattoo art evolvement. So why don’t you take a good look inside your soul and bring your own contribution as well ‘cos together we can color the world?!

The porcupine is back!

I kinda lost my inspiration these days in the viper’s nest but today I’m back to the zoo with fresh powers and new stories to tell.
I spent the last three months working in the account department doing a very boring and annoying job that I hated very much. I must apologize to all accountants but I can NOT understand how someone can stay ten hours in complete silence with the eyes running through millions numbers, day by day, week after week…I think accounting is a job for old single ladies that in their youth used to reach orgasm only by solving the math problem in front of the class. There, I said it! J) now I feel much better and relieved, relaxed and refreshed!
Well, but just not yet…caused I’m also pissed off about this Adsense disabled thing. I’ve lost all my enthusiasm in writing on this blog when I saw that dearest Google Adsense thinks that my page is too dangerous for their paying advertisers. Bull Shit! We are working in a hotel!!! We meet hundreds of people every day and we have friends all over the world. In these ten months I saw more people than you will probably see in your entire life (and virtual or inflatable friends don’t count!). But anyway…I made this just for the fun of it, and I will continue doing it for our zoo, for our friends.
NOW I’m ok! I checked all my complaints and I feel much better!
