TATTOOS

Nowadays tattoos represent the symbol of inner self, the personal sense of beauty that everyone is free to chose. Varying from simple designs such as stars, writings, butterflies, up to quite complicated models that can be proudly presented in art galleries, tattoos are definitely the marks the soul leaves on the body.
People all over the world bring their contribution to the tattoo art evolvement. So why don’t you take a good look inside your soul and bring your own contribution as well ‘cos together we can color the world?!

The porcupine is back!

I kinda lost my inspiration these days in the viper’s nest but today I’m back to the zoo with fresh powers and new stories to tell.
I spent the last three months working in the account department doing a very boring and annoying job that I hated very much. I must apologize to all accountants but I can NOT understand how someone can stay ten hours in complete silence with the eyes running through millions numbers, day by day, week after week…I think accounting is a job for old single ladies that in their youth used to reach orgasm only by solving the math problem in front of the class. There, I said it! J) now I feel much better and relieved, relaxed and refreshed!
Well, but just not yet…caused I’m also pissed off about this Adsense disabled thing. I’ve lost all my enthusiasm in writing on this blog when I saw that dearest Google Adsense thinks that my page is too dangerous for their paying advertisers. Bull Shit! We are working in a hotel!!! We meet hundreds of people every day and we have friends all over the world. In these ten months I saw more people than you will probably see in your entire life (and virtual or inflatable friends don’t count!). But anyway…I made this just for the fun of it, and I will continue doing it for our zoo, for our friends.
NOW I’m ok! I checked all my complaints and I feel much better!

Here comes the spring!

                                              Spring is in the air!

Ok, in Cyprus I might say that summer is here already because the sun is shining all day long, there are 20 oC and our Russian tourists are swimming in the see for a while now. Our zoo is also more and more visited and populated which is a good thing because new stories are born.

March is not only marking the beginning of spring but it’s also a special month in which we celebrate our mothers, sisters, girlfriends, all exceptional women in our lives. Let’s not forget to offer a tribute to our mothers, to show our appreciation to all important women in our lives (and I’m not talking about expensive jewelry as some would want me to J) and to enjoy this wonderful month of new beginnings, of rebirth, of sun and joy.

'Cause I'm the fluffy porcupine

It’s been ten great months with the zoo…We had lots of laughs and a lot of funny stories to remember. I met wonderful people and I made amazing friends that I will never forget all my life.
Yet, today I was ready to pack my bags and move on again.
I am a person of my word and I expect the others to do the same. I think that being too soft is one of my flaws because some people mistake goodness with stupidity. But there is a say that the boss is always right. I’m just a little too proud to accept this say. So today I had to speak up and risk everything just because I don’t like to be nobody’s doormat. The denouement is still uncertain, but so it’s everything in life, so I’ll keep you posted. And even if I decide to leave the zoo the true friendships will remain forever and the stories will be alive ever after.
And in the end, to understand why I’m the fluffy porcupine, I must tell you that I am soft and I am good, the nicest person in the world, but only until you step on my tale!...then come the thorns…

May I present you The Wicked ZOO

Black Cat complained about my blog being too gloomy and boring. She wants something more amusing, more entertaining and more interactive. So, because she is my number one fan, I will start a little series of stories about our wicked zoo.

Any resemblance of the characters with the reality is purely a coincidence :D and I really hope that we will have fun (and by fun I don’t mean being chased and hunted after these stories J)

Today I will present you our little wicked zoo. For the future I will probably change the characters just to confuse you even more ;))

So…on an island in the sun, where we’re always having fun (even when we’re crying), we started a little crazy zoo. We have a ruler (or so he thinks) an old and blind mole that lives under the (wrong) impression that he’s a fierce lion. Lucky us, the Black Panther is watching from the shadow making it all work. Then we have a proud peacock that draws a lot of visitors, a very mysterious white fox, a fluffy porcupine, a blue and pink zebra, Ferdinand the bull that loves to smell the flowers and our most beloved Mama Bear. But unfortunately there is no good story without villains so I have to present them too…I’ll start again with the mole because anyway he’s so confused that not even himself knows where he should stand. Then we have the Big Bad Wolf (of course not as big or as bad as he thinks), the viper and the chameleon.

The good visitors of our zoo will probably immediately recognize the characters. If not today, for sure after the following little stories. So keep in touch ;)

THE STORY OF THE SLEEPING BEAUTY THAT DECIDED TO NEVER WAKE UP

She was like a cane in the wind…fragile, confused, with no place in the world to call home…She has lost her direction in life…hoping for the best and fearing the worst. But she had nothing to lose anymore.

Then, in one of the cold rainy days, he appeared…big and strong…no words! He just put his arms around her and she finally felt like home. The poor fragile desperate creature felt finally safe, protected… All the clouds and the rain and the wind miraculously disappeared… Everything was suddenly alright, clear, cozy…She had new wings now, she could laugh, she could hope and she could dream… But unfortunately DREAM is the keyword in our story…

It was a beautiful dream, the best dream she ever dreamt, the most beautiful and strong emotions that she ever felt…

But let’s not forget that it was just a dream!

Realizing this dramatic fact, that it was just a dream, broke our Sleeping Beauty’s heart. Many days and many nights she cried and she screamed  and she prayed…but it was all black and stormy again…And in the end she decided to go back to sleep, to return to her beautiful dream, and never to wake up again.

Conclusion: who cares if it’s real or not if it makes you happy…

Karma Police

We all know the concept of karma: cause and effect, what goes around comes around…The awareness of karma as well as the Divine Intervention should make us behave better, in a way that we want the others to behave with us.
But these days we use the word Karma like a weapon against the ones we want to see getting hurt, paying for something they did (usually to us). We get hurt and we want revenge! We want to see the ones that hurt us getting hurt, suffering, maybe just a little more than we suffered because of them.
With an evil glow of revenge in our eyes we proudly conclude: “What goes around comes around! Karma will punish him/her!”.
Unfortunately this is superficial and immature because karma is so much more than just some kind of punishment for our hurt ego. Karma is not about retribution, vengeance, punishment or reward! Karma is about conscientiousness, about the responsibility of your own life, of your own deeds!

Do we still believe in love ?!

Everything is fair in love and war! Well, is it? I ask…
Love and relationships don’t come with instructions or manual. The lack of rules makes it an unfair war and we become either a possible victim or the aggressor. Each one of us wants something from the other: security and protection, stability, understanding or just good sex.

Is there still true love in 2011? Do we still believe in it? And I mean that love that wrote novels and famous poems, that built monuments, that fought real battles! Or is it so mercantile these days that we settle for the need of someone next to us and the animal desire and lustfulness?
This week is Valentine’s Day- just another too commercialized holiday that pushes everybody to spend a lot of money either they are committed (on presents and great surprises) or single (probably on chocolate, ice-cream and anti-depressants). It should be the month of love but instead of reflecting on our feelings and analyzing if we really love the person next to us and why, we starve ourselves to death, we drink plane water with lemon, we throw huge amounts of money on dresses and perfumes just because we hope that in this particular day we will all be Cinderellas. Well, personally, I think it’s just too pathetic.

About Cyprus

Big friend asked me to write about what sucks in Cyprus. Of course, there are things that I don’t like, but nowhere is perfect and I think that if I chose to live somewhere and if I chose by freewill to make Cyprus my home I certainly can’t be a hypocrite to throw shit in my own home.
What I love the most in Cyprus is the weather and that all year holiday feeling. I adore the sun and the sea, the beaches and the palm trees and especially the warm nights with clear sky that give you the impression that you can touch the moon and the stars.
If there is something that I really don’t like and I want to mention it, is that in Cyprus almost everybody thinks that is a business man- “big boss in Nicosia” as someone used to say for our amusement. They think that they can make mountains of gold from this small sunny island (and some probably do) by giving nothing in return. Even the immigrants that come to work here come with all kinds of claims and caprices, with a bad attitude and prejudices. There are always two sides of the coin and there will always be a golden mean and if you’re smart enough you will know to see the beauty in things and people and you will know to avoid the worst. Always and anywhere! Cause even in your own country and in your own home you will be treated like shit only if you allow it.

Love & Hate

Love and hate, the most powerful feelings of all…so different but yet so alike… Due to their intensity you can easily mistake one for the other…
When someone we love hurts us we tend to immediately forget about love, the beautiful moments and all the good things and take out the self defense shield of anger and hate.
So many times we say we hate somebody just because he hurt us, made us suffer and put us trough misery and frustration. Frustration is like poison and can make us think that we hate what we once loved. But it’s just a bitter-sweet lie: you hate him for hurting you but in the same time you love him. Because if there is no love there are no feelings at all, just indifference.
There will be many days when you’ll love him like crazy and you will sink in the sea of beautiful memories and there will be nights when you will hate him like hell and you will cry and scream and spend hours creating the most diabolic plans of revenge. Only when all these feelings will be gone and you will not think or care at all, only then you will be free.
Passion, patience and move on!

Once upon a time I met the devil

It was a beautiful cold night with candle light and romance floating in the air. I had all my future on my shoulders and lots of decisions to make. ..I was blinded by stupid dreams and sweet lies- it was love! It was a fairytale! Hahaha…bitter delusion…and still I wonder if I took the right decisions…

The devil appeared trough warm whispers and soft touches. He looked me straight in the eyes and he laughed. For a moment I froze and I panicked. Then I thought it was just an illusion, a hallucination maybe…Now I know it was a warning!
Every decision we make change our future. But do we realize the impact, do we see the change?!

Working in Cyprus

Working in Cyprus can be a real lottery.

My first try was a genuine disaster! Arrived in Cyprus at the beginning of March (so not season time yet) we took what we were offered: working 16 hours a day, no break, no day off, for just a crappy accommodation with no electricity and some food leftovers…just like little slaves, but happy ones, with big dreams, enjoying the first rays of sun, the warm breeze in the hair and the smell of freedom at the horizon…
Don’t get me wrong, you can also be very very lucky (I know some!) you can find a good job with fine payment and a very nice boss but don’t think for one second that it’s easy! For nobody (ever!) is easy to work in a foreign country as an immigrant. So remember: tones of work, but if you know and want to enjoy life the rewards and fun are also huge.

Cats in Cyprus

I must admit from the start: I’m not a very big fan of cats! But the cats in Cyprus don’t give a damn about it…they walk all over the place like they own the island…and they probably do :D and they make you love them either you want it or not.

In Cyprus there are a lot of sanctuaries, shelters and pounds for the animals without owner and indeed you don’t see stray dogs on the street, but with the cats it’s a complete different story. There are too many cats in Cyprus !

Although there are so many good people taking care of the stray animals, giving shelter, food, medicine, the stray cat’ situation is out of control. Anybody can help and any help is welcomed.
We adopted one adorable ginger pussycat and he became very fast the mascot of the hotel where we are working. Everybody loves him and everybody names him J that’s why now he is Pisique, Tibor, Nemo etc etc etc and very very fat J He is present in every tourist’s pictures and holiday videos, he is indeed an international star!

What about love ?!

Love…I really hate talking about it, but Valentine’s Day is right around the corner and I guess I’m getting older and softer :D
Love is such a controversial subject…
From my personal experience I would say that love is nothing more than the product of our imagination and autosuggestion and it depends on how much you want to see the good in the other person and how much you desire him/her to be the One who makes your dreams come true… But don’t mind me, cause I am more of an Ice Queen as I was told :D
Love is about accepting and understanding the other just like she/he is…is about selflessness and looking in the same direction… Is about picturing a future together and fighting every day to keep the greatest feeling of all alive.
“Too much love will kill you/ Just as sure as none at all” is my favorite quote ever. Unfortunately very true. Never in a relationship the two persons will love the same…So, one small piece of advice- if you find that true love do everything you can to keep it and cherish it every day!
Happy Valentine’s Day!

Wake up call

I had my wakeup call just a little more than a year ago…

I decided that I don’t like the way my future was picturing, that I’m no longer satisfied with my life and that I need a fresh new start to take the future in my own hands and to paint in new colors, more bright. So I packed a few things and I decided to fly away around the world to find my place and myself.

After a few gloomy and depressing stops I landed in Cyprus- a small sunny island with beautiful beaches and great Mediterranean Sea, a land of Holiday where I finally discovered myself and I reborn.

If you want to join me in my new adventures in Cyprus you are more than welcomed. Grab a cold Keo and listen to the sweet song of the shells singing the amazing stories of the sea…
