Big friend asked me to write about what sucks in Cyprus. Of course, there are things that I don’t like, but nowhere is perfect and I think that if I chose to live somewhere and if I chose by freewill to make Cyprus my home I certainly can’t be a hypocrite to throw shit in my own home.
What I love the most in Cyprus is the weather and that all year holiday feeling. I adore the sun and the sea, the beaches and the palm trees and especially the warm nights with clear sky that give you the impression that you can touch the moon and the stars.
If there is something that I really don’t like and I want to mention it, is that in Cyprus almost everybody thinks that is a business man- “big boss in Nicosia” as someone used to say for our amusement. They think that they can make mountains of gold from this small sunny island (and some probably do) by giving nothing in return. Even the immigrants that come to work here come with all kinds of claims and caprices, with a bad attitude and prejudices. There are always two sides of the coin and there will always be a golden mean and if you’re smart enough you will know to see the beauty in things and people and you will know to avoid the worst. Always and anywhere! Cause even in your own country and in your own home you will be treated like shit only if you allow it.
Yeah baby, this is it. The only reason I asked you to write some negative aspects about Cy is only for yourself. To make you avoid living in a big cloud of lies and fake hopes that we all tend to do it. It was a good article this one and you have what it takes to become a good blogger. ;)
ReplyDeleteAlso, when you publish something about everything, just don't forget about the people who will read you and judge you. So that's why is very important when you describe things and matthers as living in Cyprus, to touch all the aspects: positive and negative parts. ;)
i will not say nothing about Cyprus because I see different then you or big friend but I want to read your opinion after ten year leaving hear
